Man, that colon test is a real downer. Hopefully the scope doesn’t find anything! As for health issues, I get it. My metabolism packed up and moved out around the time the pandemic started. My dr said I need to do resistance training (weights, pool exercise, resistance bands, etc) to build more lean muscle mass, and that should help with weight loss. And last night my garage door didn’t respond the first time I hit the button (which was a sideways glance to be sure) and I had a moment of panic and channeled Estrin. Honestly I think that piece about getting his garage door replaced will stay with me for the rest of my life!

This was great, Lyle! Love the way you made the connection between writing and exercise. About ten years ago I made a similar connection when I broke my ankle. What I didn't realize was that pacing and going for walks was a big part of my writing process, but I didn't make that connection until I was unable to walk. So I guess I made that connection the hard way.

Just had my 100th workout session (13 months) in the gym! I’m only counting because I’m working out with a trainer.

But yeah I had just turned 43 and I was feeling blah and putting on “skinny fat” weight. I knew I had to do something. Let me tell you I feel GREAT it’s so worth it I’m rooting for you!

Love your writing. I started exercising at age 50, I'm still fat but enjoy life so much more and feel better.
